Spot in Carpinteria

Great little local spot. Miss these types of establishments because simple will always be popular for me.

The food here at the spot is a good stop wile you are near the beach and want to get a bite to eat from a rather surf shop kind of feel. They have a large amount of outdoor seating along with a indoor patio set up. The food selection is pretty good along with a Mexican menu and the orders come up pretty quick. The staff is generally nice but a lot of them seem to be fresh out of high school so it's a lot of first jobs. Over all its a pretty good "spot" to get something to eat.

The name says it all bc these delicious burgers and fries definitely hit the spot!

Visited family up the street from "The Spot" as a kid and couldn't wait to grab a bite before going to the beach. So many fun childhood memories related to this place. A must stop when your in the area. You may have to wait in line though, so keep that in mind. Enjoy!!

My buddy suggested that we stop by The Spot while visiting some breweries in Carpenteria. It definitely met the expectations set by him. The burgers were juicy and toppings crisp and fresh. I had bacon on mine which was perfect. I will have to remember to bring cash when I come back being cash only. Will be back the next time I'm in Carpenteria!

Great burgers and even better shakes!

Great casual spot for burgers, fries & shakes, etc. The double cheeseburger was excellent and the chocolate shake was good. There wasn't much 'onion' in the onion rings, however, mostly batter. The clam chowder had the consistency of paste - way to much potato, and I was unable to find a single clam. Stick to the burgers and you'll be fine here.

Such an amazing little "spot". Been here about a half dozen times and it never disappoints. Delicious burgers, fries, super chocolatey shakes and the BEST onion rings. Can't say enough about this historic Carpenteria food landmark. It is cash only so make sure you bring some.

This place has great food, and a large menu.

Great burgers as usual. But we waited 10 mi nutes after the three burgers came out to get the one shake we ordered. So either we ate the food without the shake or one of us waits and has a cold burger. That left a sour taste in our mouth.

ONLY CASH!!!This place it amazing. It did take a little long to order the food. The cashier wasn't very fast at her job. But once we ordered we sat down and the food was ready in like 10ish min. You get the old school, beach, and fresh vibe. The food is amazing. The burger looks and tastes home made. They give you a big burger. The fires are ok. They weren't worth finishing. Just get one frie to share with someone else I promise you you aren't going to want to get seconds. The burger is super juicy! Always went to this place when I was younger and tastes and looks the same.

Fish and chips are delicious!

This is beach food. It's not health food. You order at a window. You sit outside. Seagulls might try to gank a fry. It's a place out of time. They don't exist anymore back east.I've been here two or three times. It's a nice place to hit before the Carpinteria bluffs. Food was good, and I definitely dug those fries, but California burgers are skinny little pucks to my eyes. You cannot fool me by piling an inch of iceberg lettuce onto it.

The food is consistently well prepared and yummy, workers provides great service. I really like how clean it is and vibes. Will come back again.

We have come here off and on, over the years. We always get the hot pastrami sandwich, which has always been the best in the west.Not this time. The meat was different, not the thin, yummy hot pastrami we always used to get here.What a shame.We actually wondered if the there are new owners?

The customer service is always prompt, good ambience, very welcoming staff members. Will return here again when I am in town.

Have been going here my entire life as my grandparents used to manage apartments down the street. Always delicious. Definitely sits heavy but it's a great burger.

In all of the years I've been coming here the spot has never change. The burgers are always tasty america style burgers paired with a soda and fries or yummy shake or ice cream. Five stars four consistency for sure. Five stars for never sucking also. And its so close to the beach you can walk there and back so you can have some fresh hot burgers and fries on the sand with your family! Prices arent bad either :-)

Customers are respecting the social distancing and masks signs. Nice to see people of all ages caring about each other while enjoying a nice meal ☺️

Still here! I remember having burgers here with my family way back in 1983! Looked a lot different back then!!! We would drive up from Thousand Oaks in the summer on vacation!! Keep flipping those burgers!!!👍🤘😍🍔

If you're expecting a quick, decent bite to eat by the beach, this is "The Spot!" The service is fast and friendly and the burgers are pretty tasty. My only complaint is that the onion rings are obviously frozen. However, they are super cheap! Definitely worth checking out.Update: the chocolate shakes are awesome!

A great selection of food here and a quick walk from the surrounding beaches. There’s always a good crowd here which makes the wait a bit long but it’s decent grub. If you’re visiting Carp, then this is a place to try. We always make at least 1 stop here.

I know they are famous for their burgers but I tell you, the tacos are fantastic!

Delicious local spot, cash only.

They microwave the chowder... This makes the clams tuff and very chewy. It's also a very fishy chowder and seemed over cooked. I ate a few bites and threw it out. Disappointed.... The onion rings are very good. Burgers are good. Fries are ok. Staff is friendly but service was slow.

This is a cool little take out spot with a small patio that has tables. There's a large menu it has a little bit of everything but they're very well known for their burgers. It is a cash-only place. There's generally a line at the order window. The sidewalk can get crowded with all the people lining up to order or waiting for their food.

Very good place to get fast food and support a local institution. Burgers, shakes, fish and chips.This place is cash only do be prepared, there is an ATM on site and you get a free drink with proof of withdrawal.

A place to order 2 burgers and maybe save a spot for more. Perfect burger and true to Burger traditions. Simple, clean and cooked to perfection

Awesome food, friendly staff. They offer everything from seafood to burgers, fair prices. Their old fashioned malts are extremely scrumptious.

It was good. It's not the BEST but it's good.

We waited in a long line to get some milkshakes. We ordered two shakes and they were okay. Each shake was over $4, so I was expecting a good shake. They weren't bad, they just weren't good. Very average, kind of bland. The location of this place is great, and I'd be happy to try one of their burgers. If you enjoy mediocre shakes, then order a shake from The Spot.

If you are looking for a good old fashioned shack on the beach, this is literally “The Spot”. I always make sure to visit The Spot whenever I am in Carpinteria. Everything you could want from tacos to burgers are served here. The malts/shakes are a must try. The only thing to be careful to remember is to remember to bring cash. They don’t take cards or other forms of payment.

The customer service was horrible the girls taking the orders where very rude.The onions on my burger where at least a day old and tasted soggy and sour. The lettuce was wilted with yellow and brown spots. And the ranch had crusted over it was old. I requested a new one and it was sour and had gone bad. When I ask if the produce was prepared daily I was told yea it's fresh. After eating I went into the restroom and decided not to use the facilities as there was urine on the walls and all over the seat. There was no toilet paper or soap and the floor was covered in trash. I am not sure what happened to this place was there a few yrs ago and it was great, it has definitely gone down hill and the owners should really check into changing some things. If you still go there after reading this I hope your visit is better than mine was

Yeah! Now serving breakfast burritos! So good. Only happens during the summer; 7:30 am. ...sharing a burrito with my husband. They're back and just as good July 2018! Added two new pictures.

i had a burger and fries and they were about average but i didn't like they don't sell combos and that they only take cash and have a atm machine that changes to much.

A Carpinteria hamburger institution. Good burgers & fries. Been visiting here for decades, especially when I lived in town. Worth the visit if your tired of the chain burger joints.

Been coming here my whole life and now I have shared it with my Mother in law and she loved it. Oh ya that across the street from the SPOT the real last drive me and my 98 Gsr Vtech had together trust me it's worth the drive.

Read reviews from locals and others passing through . Thought why not try it I love a good burger and love chili cheese fries. Yikes this place is horrible. Flavorless food mostly all frozen. I can see why locals rant and rave about it there is nothing else to compare to, Maybe Foster freeze or McDonald's. The Fish and chips drenched in grease didn't even look appealing! sorry but my husband and daughter did like it either waste of Money but like I said in a small town I can see why all the support . Also I will be calling local health department I noticed not one single person wore gloves or had hair nets on . Wait was way too long seriously how do you mess up frozen food. The only good thing my 8 year old said was good was the small vanilla shake.

Best burgers, fries (i always get chili cheese fries YUUMM!!) And their chocolate malt should be illegal its so good!! I ride here from Thousand Oaks as much as I possibly can, specifically for this place. Well, with all this talkin about their amazing food, I have to go today!

Food is phenomenal, service great! My one concern was the boat load of people NOT social distancing and arguing with the staff about wearing masks. The staff stood their ground. This is for everyone's health regardless what you do or do not have, stop being selfish silent NON-mask protestors.

Food was good, nice patio to eat at. Fish tacos could have either a bit of salsa or cilantro to add Mexican flare
